Comprehensive review of a wide range of literature and research relating to creativity, collaboration, and supporting digital tools.
A thorough thematic analysis of literature was conducted in order to ascertain re-occurring themes across relevant research. This stage also generated additional subjects for further literature review.
Based on the results of the interviews, a review of themes was conducted, in order to determine the final set of themes, as well as their hierarchy and corresponding dependencies.
Investigation of requirements and potential designs of a system which supports key interactions during creative collaboration. Emphasis of design phase was on supporting a high degree of flexibility in the use of tools and environments.
Online survey of individuals with a range of creative collaboration experience. The survey informed the interview structure and questions, as well as contributing to the validation of themes.
Semi-structured interviews investigating personal and professional process during creative collaborative projects. Emphasis on discovery of key elements that support both creativity and collaboration.
